Tumblr vs. Blogger?
Question: Which blogging service do you prefer?  Why? Reason for my question:  Ok, I’m known for my “lack of loyalty” when it comes to blog networks. What I mean is, I tried Wordpress, didn’t like it. I tried blogger, it seemed a little restricted to me. I tried Typepad for a week, but wasn’t into paying to blog. I’m in love with Tumblr, but I find that 95% of...

{Project of the Week} "Disney Time Capsule"
Good Morning!! This week’s project is a “time capsule” {memory box}. This box comes in at 14”x14”x8”.  Well, let me just cut & paste the description from the website: {This box was made for a client that wanted a “Time Capsule” for her twins’ first birthday. Her party guests were asked to bring something from the year 2010, the year of...

New Memberships & Aspiring Friends!
Good Late Morning!  So, finally jumping back on here after a couple of days, Chris was sick yesterday - so again, I apologize for not getting Monday Montage up. :( While needing to pass the time as I waited on my future hubby, I discovered Ning. It’s a social networking site that brings people together based on a topic. It would be like Facebook, but rather, a whole bunch of...

My Weekend Project & DIY Garden Markers
This weekend was sunny and beautiful. To my surprise, my fiance decided to clear out the side yard for my dad. This lead to a day of digging, weeding, and gardening. I’ve always been against gardening - I had to do it with/for my mom when I was a teenager & I never understood the concept of planting annuals. ((“Why are we spending all this energy just to plant something that will...

{Etsy Treasure Hunt Saturdays} Damask
It’s Saturday! You all know what that means….. it’s an Etsy Treasure Hunt! This week I found some inspiration in damask print. I will admit… I was bias. I chose only black & white damask! But as you’ll see in the following photos, damask can be elegant, chic, funky, & playful all at the same time. Please support these featured artists by clicking on their item...

one of the BEST RCIA classes thus far....
Teacher, RCIA teen x 4, Teacher {my fiance], Teacher {me} Every year it begins, we get a new group of RCIA teens. And every year, to be honest, I always am apprehensive about the new group. I’m attached to the teens getting ready to leave us {they decided to become baptized/confirmed}, they’ve been in class for some time & I don’t want to see them go. When the class above...

Being A Tourist In My Home Town
The past few weeks I have been going to Los Angeles quite often. Having just “discovered” the fashion district & the treasures they carry for me as a crafter (spools of ribbon covering an entire wall, just to buy by the yard, a whole other wall covered in packages of rhinestones…. by wall, I mean 10’x40’: it’s crafter’s heaven).  Recently, I went out...

A Pink Thermometer...
A pink thermometer just came in the mail. It, along with a huge box of all the necessary information for NFP. Chris & I had our first class this past Sunday. It was, well, VERY informative & very DETAILED. But, I guess if you want to scientifically figure this all out, you’ll need all the details. :) I’m very excited to begin & learn the natural family planning process!

The New Insurance Bill
I am so excited about the new Health Bill! I get to lose my constitutional rights. I get to wait 42 days to see a doctor. I can even opt to get a lien on my house, money taken right out of my bank account or be audited if I decide not to get government approved health insurance before the end of the year. Gee, life is great!

I'm Getting Published!
“Hello, My name is Jami, editor-in-chief of Scrapbooking.com Magazine. We would like to publish you in our May issue.” Um, sure. Why not.   So I must say, I rarely, do I ever, go onto Two Peas In A Bucket [dot] com anymore. I used to use it quite often as my scrapbooking outlet. Since the business has been getting really busy, I haven’t gone on in quite some time. But lo,...

Night at the Cousins
Spent the evening at my cousins’ house. Pizza. Beer. Convo. It was great & relaxing. Man, is my little cousin growing up now! Above is a picture of her a few years back. Now: a cute little punk girl, err teen, with her funky style and purple streaks in her hair. Gee, I love her!  Tomorrow… NFP class. 1st one. We’ll have to see how this goes. I’m very excited &...

{Water}
On the importance of H20:
Me: I don't drink a lot. I don't drink a lot of anything.
Melissa: Well surely you drink water?
Me: No. Not really.
Melissa: How could you not drink water?
... a few minutes pass...
...Melissa is reading from a Nutritional Supplements book...
Melissa: WATER: We as humans can survive 35-50 days without food. But we cannot survive any longer than 3-7 days without water. We are dying without it.
Me: ((grimaced face))
Melissa: Humans are made up of 70% water, but Kristina-Nicole is only made up of 40% because she doesn't drink water and is killing herself.
Me: ((gets up and grabs a bottle of water))

The Etsy Treasure Hunt Of Saturdays
I am a big fan of etsy. I even have a little store front of my own. I think I am deciding that I am going to start showing off my etsy finds. What should we call it? A find? A discovery? A sojourn? I mean, sometimes finding great stuff is really easy - sometimes you find great stuff tucked into the back woods of the etsy search engine. Hmmm… please give some suggestions. But anyways, I...

I Have A Dream.... {repost of MLKjr Day}
Today is a national holiday for the United States - Martin Luther King Jr. Day. A man with revolutionary ideas, hopes, and actions.       I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the                 difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I         still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted         in the American dream.    - mlk This line from a 17 minute speech is one of many...

Whooo Loves You?
Every year, for the past 10 years, my best friend S.B. & I trade Christmas presents. This year, we decided on a DIY Christmas. She had been talking lately about organizing her favorite photos of her and her boyfriend…. so I really wanted to make her a mini book.  I had been thinking for awhile on the shape of the book I wanted to use. S.B. loves owls. Did I say loves? I mean LOVES owls....

Making New Friends
So, for the past two days I have been suffering from ‘acute sinusitis’. Though, for my head, it doesn’t feel acute. I haven’t been able to work, per se, but I’ve been making use of the time by networking. Starting a FACEBOOK fan page for Kristina-Nicole has been great. And the promotional give-away that we’re having in 2 days is exciting! And now,  I wanted to...

My 1st Attempt At Sewing
This week has been crazy wonderful with projects for Kristina-Nicole. In the midst of my “break-taking”, I was perusing through an idea book I have in my arsenal, Step By Step Projects Fabric Scrapbooking, by Donna Downey. During Thanksgiving I was a busy bee in the kitchen, along with the rest of America, and really wanted a home made apron. Here it is!! My Oma was a seamstress. I remember...

I {LOVE} Rit Dye!
